House Stabilization

Is Your Home’s Foundation Stable?

When your foundation sinks, cracks, settles, or heaves, it can leave you with an unlevel house. As set forth by the American Concrete Institute, a house should be no more than 1.5 inches out of level. Anything more, and you’re at risk of a catastrophic incident in the event of a natural disaster or just the passage of time.

What makes this problem so insidious is the fact that it happens so slowly that many homeowners don’t even know what is happening to their precious homes. In extreme cases, you can physically see that your house has become uneven from the outside, appearing as though one side is sinking into the ground. Stabilizing your house may be one of the most important repairs your home may ever need since it involves the safety and longevity of your investment. How can you know if your house needs stabilizing?
